Uncorking- Disclaimer I'm not a Mezcal or tequila drinker normally but picked this up for a family member.
Nose - diesel fuel, smoke and almost rubber notes, some tropical fruits, earthiness.
Taste- surprisingly pleasant, spice kicks first then almost like an Islay with notes of burning rubber, smoke, an earthy mossy quality all over layers of sweet fruit.
Finish is quick mostly smoke, diesal and rubber notes. Like a truck stop but not in a bad way. Bandaids comes through in the finish too.
Overall- The smoke tastes almost artificial and the finish is short but I could drink this. Probably be amazing in a cocktail. If you like high peat and smokey Islay this might be an option to explore.
