Connemara Original Peated Single Malt
Single Malt — Ireland

Better than some Scotch. This whiskey is nicely done. Peat bops you the nose on every sip, velvet smokey honey coat the palate nicely and a long chard oak after taste lingers for some time. A lot more peat and smoke than I was expecting for an Irish, but a rich and heavy single malt body to support the peat smoke flavors. Could be an everyday drinker for a peat head. Surprised on the low rating, as I believe this can best a lot of Scotch offerings of peat. Would be great around a campfire or a cold winter night and a heavy meal.

Finally bought this. It is very tasty and easily a solid purchase in the Irish realm.
Good review. You’re right, it does taste closer to a Highland light peat scotch. One reason could be that it is only double-distilled instead of the ‘expected’ Irish triple; another that they get their peat from Scotland, instead of locally. @Ctrexman you might find it a bit one-dimensional but still enjoyable and the price is good too.
Nice review. i havent had this yet but am going to purchase very soon with many favorable posts
