Absolut Juice Pear & Elderflower Edition
Flavored Vodka — Sweden
Reviewed
February 21, 2021 (edited February 24, 2021)
Nose - candied pear, elderflower, caramel, mild ethanol burn.
Taste - sweet pear, elderflower, black pepper, tart apple, grass, mild to moderate alcohol bite, finishing medium short with sweet elderflower, pear, and sour apple flavors.
I don’t like this any better than the Apple edition. There’s no question that this must be mixed to have any chance of being pleasant. Taken neat, the flavors are too syrupy and sickly sweet. Once again, I feel the need to take a shot of Jim Beam Original to cleanse the palate.

@cascode Thanks! Only five more to go, I believe. Hoping to wrap up the series this weekend and declare the winners. Similar to with my gin series, I wanted to dive into another category that I historically stayed away from. I don’t think the results here were as positive as they were with the gins, but I still feel I’ve gained some level of appreciation for the category. The differences between offerings are identifiable, but much more subtle and probably not worth thinking all that hard about unless you happen to be a hardcore vodka aficionado. Maybe there are a couple of those people out there.
Great summary (sadly). The Absolut standard range of flavoured vodkas ranges from undrinkable to pretty good. This juice range is more consistently revolting. How many more vodkas to go - did you lose a bet? 😁 Seriously though, thanks for taking so many for the team - it's good to know what to avoid.
@jonwilkinson7309 Thanks. These “juice” offerings are particularly horrid to drink straight. It was a drain pour as soon as I got enough out of it to write the review.
Ouch! My sympathies!!
