uncorking- Nose- dry peanut shells, caramel, spice
Taste- peanut butter, brown sugar, leather, oak,
Finish- hint of bitter closes out the sweetness of nut breads, like a zucchini or banana nut bread.
Discontinued in 2018 for the barrel proof I stumbled on this in a tiny small town store and gave it a shot. Glad I did.
Inspired a flight fight against EW Bib, David Nicholson Reserve. Was a lot closer than I would have expected. OE 7 won the nose but that slightly bitterness in the finish put it behind EW, and DN Reserve might have edged the top slightly. If I want peanuts I would go EW and if I want just rich caramels and smooth I'd go DNR.
