A tame dragon.
Nose: crème brûlée, grass, clover, windolene and (please forgive me) urinal cake.
Taste: Raspberry and clotted cream, woody and malty. It feels thin, light, mild and watery with no burn at all. Where is this dragon’s fire?
Finish: sugar-dusted toast, light pepper.
I couldn’t put my finger on it for ages but something seemed artificial yet familiar. It finally registered that it was a cheap nightclub shot from fadó fadó. A resurrected memory of slamming B52s, which for those that don’t know is made up of layered coffee liqueur, irish cream, and orange liqueur. Bizarre!

This is a lesson for any new distillery. Don’t release a bottling just because you can - with so much options on offer, first impressions matter and we’ll just move on to another distillery.
@1901 Yeah only the Rich oak i had was any good..hard pass on rest!
@Soba45 this sample tonight is my first experience of Penderyn. I expect that unless I am back holidaying in Wales (which hopefully could happen sometime sooner than 2031🤞) I won’t seek out any other from their range.
Definitely not one of their finest efforts! Their Rich Oak was a lot better.
