Proper No. Twelve
NOSE: Starts Floral, backed by Dusty Oak. It's joined by Oatmeal with Brown Sugar and Maple. Just a hint of Orchard Fruit. A little Sourness. Simple and Pleasant.
NEAT: DEFINITELY Irish. Enters Slightly Sweet and Floral. Vanilla, Sugar Cookie, Malt Cereal, Leather, and Toasted Oak. Simple and Pleasant, like the nose. Not much of a Finish, but again...Irish and 80 Proof. That makes this very sippable. That Slight Sourness from the nose shows up on the aftertaste, but not as predominant as I've gotten from other similarly priced Irish (I'm looking at you Sexton).
SPLASH: I highly recommend a few drops with this one, despite the low proof. A little water really helped counteract the Sourness I was getting, without muddling the rest of the palate.
VERDICT: I went into this expecting to not like it and was pleasantly surprised. This is a dangerously "Smooth" easy sipper. Similarly priced to the Black Bush on the norm, but on sale this month for around the same as the White and Red. For that price? Definitely a winner by TKO over standard Bush and Jameson. At it's normal price? I'd go with the Black Bush, but it's close. Very nearly 4 Stars, but I'll round down.

@1901 interesting. I didn’t realize he has sold out. I definitely got more Bourbon barrel influence than Sherry. Sounds like a cross between Black and Red Bush then.
Nice review. Interesting comparison to Bushmills. It's essentially Bushmills Original/Black Bush stock. More sherry that White, but less than Black. Jose Cuervo (who own Bushmills) bought out Conor McGregor’s remaining shares in Feb and now wholly own this brand. https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2021/3/3/22311028/conor-mcgregor-bought-out-of-proper-12-whiskey-company-jose-cuervo-mma-ufc-news
@BDanner thanks for posting the review on this!
@robwalker that was one reason it took so long for me to give it a taste. @WhiskeyLonghorn it’s hard to beat the VFM on Bush Black.
I've had trouble wanting to even give this a go with it being a celebrity whiskey backed by Conor McGregor.... glad to hear it's reasonable, but glad to also hear black Bush is equivalent or better, thus I'll probably stick with black Bush :)
Hard to top the Black Bush in the price vs. quality metric.
