This is very similar to the Gold Reserve(reviewed) in nose and palate with much more depth and sophistication. Golden honey and rich malt dominate with some toasted barrel, wispy smoke and flash of peat. Finish is where it separates. Much longer with full flavor lasting throughout. Extremely easy to drink with luxurious soft mouthfeel. Those who worship at the temple of refined smoothness get in line. Price upcharge to get overall better experience though. Im still going Green if Im buying but for $84(in my area) would not mind having a bottle around......87/100......really very good stuff but tough competition at $$

@Skymecca yeah I enjoyed it so much I plowed right through the 200ml bottle with ease. Its so drinkable with zero off notes but still rich flavor. Probably should compare against the Green to be sure
Nice review. I’m actually quite a fan of this one, low ABV and all. It is very well put together, with a subtle amount of smoke and a surprisingly rich nose and palate consisting of dates, toffee and caramel. As noted, there are a ton of great options around $80 and this is no world beater, but there are few if any 18 year old scotches at this price. I buy this once every year or two for something that is good with people appreciate scotch but aren’t hard core.
Good review. I agree about Green being a better buy.
