A solid rye whiskey. First sip brings the spice of the rye which quickly makes way for a rush of sweetness. The nose is very pleasing, a bit of cinnamon and carmel. The fruit notes are a bit overshadowed by the sweetness I can pick up some milder fruit flavors such as pear. I tend to prefer a meat drink, but I feel like a single cube, or half cube if your ice maker makes elongated cubes really helps enhance the aromatics and cuts some of the sweetness.
Overall a very sold bottle for the money. I would say it's comparable to wild turkey's Russell's Reserve rye whiskey, though in my experience this can be had for a better price.
