I'm not sure why people despise this rum so much. It smells great, if a bit simple. Very sweet, almost like banana. Definitely not a harsh smell at all. Served neat it tastes like molasses and some vague fruit with just a small trace of ethanol towards the end. Super straightforward but where this drink really comes into its own is as a mixer. It doesn't function like a vodka whatsoever because it nicely complements most sweet flavors and juices. Seriously, add this to any juice and you have something that takes you immediately to a tropical spot. In a mojito it's just the right amount of sugar without making your drink boozy. An absolutely fun rum just begging to be mixed. Can't help but feel a lot of the hate this gets is because it's a big brand because honestly, for its price it's one of the most excellent mixers out there.
