This is the first time I’ve tried a Lowland Single malt whisky and I’m both surprised and intrigued.
The aromas and flavours of this bottle seem a bit unique to me, since it’s a “Three Wood” meaning from 3 barrels that give 3 completely different flavours which is nice, almost like getting the best of each barrel.
I noticed right off the bat the richness of this whisky. How smooth it was yet rough at the same time, fruity, buttery and coats the mouth nicely which is also a good sign for me. I like when there’s a hint of spice, or char.
On the nose you can smell some of the sweet aromas of fruit and vanilla. On the palate you still get those same notes but with an added touch of a toasted sugar, ash, blackberry, vanilla, great combination, easily went for another dram after the first tasting.
I recommend this bottle to anyone is search of a great whisky from the Lowlands.
