In a blind taste, I was convinced this had a sherry cask finish. There is a huge overarching fruitiness to the nose and taste. Rich and full flavored with additional hits of vanilla, and a caramel brown sugar sweetness. A little bite on the back end.
Finish: a lingering warmth that hints at spice.
Impressions: this is my favorite regular line offering from Woodford. The double oaking adds needed depth and character with only a little extra bump in price. Definitely worth keeping in the rotation.
