Very medicinal and piercing on the nose. First sip tasted like the nose? Very medicinal notes with a woody/roasted peanut finish. Once ice has started to melt a bit the nose smells a bit more floral and less aggressive. Lacks a lot of sweetness and richness that a lot of bourbons have, it’s got a lingering acidic medical taste that really is not my favorite. The more it melts the more the nose reminds me of Knobb creek/ that family of bourbons. I like knobb creek way better and that bourbon isn’t my fav. Disappointing $40 buy. Towards the very last sip it finally becomes bearable and just tastes like a less good knobb or basil Hayden’s.
