I love barrel-aged stouts. This whiskey reverses the trend by "stout-aging" the whiskey, along with the addition of chocolate malt. While this whiskey goes great with coffee and perhaps similar mixers, I did not enjoy it as a sipping spirit. It has mild stout influence and coffee/cocoa flavor but is a bit one note, and has a..."tinny", mineral aftertaste that left me wanting something more complex.
