Balvenie The Week of Peat 14 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland

Nose- pervasive peat with smoke, bark, and black pepper
Body- the usual rich honey body is there but the peat is pervasive and not as well balanced as I would like, I mostly get char with a hint of orange and honey
Finish- smoke, honey, orange and quite a bit of char that gives off a bitter note like burnt toast
Well, I have found a Balvenie that I don’t really like. Who would have thought? The usual Balvenie depth just isn’t there. The peat does not enhance, it smothers here.
