Picked this up yesterday but haven’t cracked it yet. Looks like it will be easier to find than the first release. Sounds weird AF tho. Not sure I want Guinness and my Islay malts in the same glass...

@BDanner you’re probably right 🙂 Seems like they did something similar last Christmas, https://www.gobourbon.com/guinness-is-bringing-us-two-new-bourbon-barrel-finished-stouts/
@1901 I’m sure they filled some Lagavulin casks with Guinness, dumped them and refilled with Lag for this one. Should we expect a “Guinness Aged in Lagavulin Barrels” release?
@Bergkampgunner You’re right - there is no real tradition of using casks for Guinness stout. It seems a bit shoehorned to capitalise on a popular trend in whiskey. It says Guinness beer, so is it even stout used I wonder?
I had set up a Lagavulin tasting last Friday but unfortunately this didn’t get opened. Valinch and Mallet single barrel and the first bottling of 8 from 2016, both this and the original Offerman, and the 16 and distillers edition from 2014. We had the other two pairs but didn’t get around to the Offermans. Looking forward to it though According to the box this is 11 years like the original Offerman and then 5 months in “Guinness casks.” I didn’t realize Guinness was using many casks but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Hopefully it’s interesting in a good way.
"Guinnessy" should be a thing. Wait, no it shouldn't...
Wait...another release of the Offerman? I can’t keep track anymore. I thought the first one was really good, and hopefully this follows in that footstep
Have you tried it yet?
