I needed a cheap tequilla for mixing and this caught my eye. I never buy blanco tequilla and typically only mix with reposado but something about me caved.
Pronounced aroma of smoked agave for a clear liquor. Sea salt and oak. Zero ethanol.
Smokey, sweet with floral and even a slight vegetal note but again no ethanol. Wow. For the $20ish I paid I expected much less. It’s no anejo or mezcal but manages to keep smoke and agave alive and well. Deceiving.

@Scott_E in the days when I could afford beer and cheep liquor something about “silver” tequilla always turned me off so I became biased early on. Chances are I’ve been wasting decent reposado as a mixer but this blanco lended plenty flavor (and perhaps other, better balancos do as well) so long as I don’t drown them in lime juice.
@Bourbon_Obsessed_Lexington I was asking because when I make Margaritas, I used blanco. Saw your comment and started second guessing myself thinking the better margarita uses reposado and I am missing out.
@Scott_E because I’m ignorant with my tequilla. I always thought reposado had more smoke and slight wood spice but not to the level of anejo or mezcal that would overpower most drinks. I’m not sure I’ve ever given blanco the credit it deserves thanks to my only buying cheap/bad blanco.
So why do you mix only with reposado?
