Glengarry Single Malt Peated and Smoky
Single Malt — Highland, Scotland
Reviewed
May 5, 2021
Appearance: light amber, almost a greenish tint when held against the light
Scent: Smoke, Sweet, Caramel
Flavor: Smoke, black pepper, light peat
Texture: mostly watery
Initial scent is a bit sharp, acrid, and obviously smoky, but is rounded out by slight caramel and honeysuckle notes. First taste is of smoke and peat, followed by a wave of black pepper and light tongue-numbing. Texture is a bit watery.
Overall, not my absolute favorite whiskey, by any means, but not necessarily undrinkable. Blends can be really hit-or-miss. This one atypically sits firmly in the middle, and would probably be a fine mixer for the price.
It’s alright. 2.5 stars!
