My first venture into blended scotch; enamoured by the recommendations and high praise of drinkers.
In my limited palette, this is very similar to highland park 12 Viking honour. The biggest difference is how smooth this is all the way through.
Nose isn’t very pronounced; pretty mellow and uninteresting. A little smoke and peat is detectable.
Palette is the usual sweetness with all the expected flavours.
Finish is where the smoke arrives- just the right amount. Lingering finish and in no way unpleasant. Absolutely no burn and goes down easy.
Very nice scotch for the price point; you could save $12 and get the HP12 but I think it is worth it for the extra smoothness. Also, you’re getting a 15 year age statement. Not terribly complex, but it’s a great dram when you don’t want to think about it

Spot on with the HP12 comparison. But it also matches up nicely vs Red Seal which is $140 and spectacular. Also, think of the pricing this way: Caol Ila 12 yr $65, Talisker 10 yr $65, Linkwood 12 yr $70, Cragganmore 12 yr $80. JW Green is made up of a 15 year old version of each for $55. What???
Totally agree this is just sublime sipping scotch
