Exclusive cask celebrating 25 years of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society in America
This is a venerable and elegant whisky worthy of celebrating special occasions. It begins soft and light with aromas of lemon meringue pie, boozy poached pears, sumptuous vanilla pastries, pipe tobacco and cut flowers wilting in the sun. The taste is light, clean, sweet and slightly spicy (white pepper), then lemon bonbon candies, icing sugar and a delicate but irresistible mille-feuille. With water, the heady aromas suggest dunnage warehouses, waxy sweetness (candles and honeycomb), dried fruits (cake mix) and dried flowers. Classic and delicate to taste, it’s sweet with well-balanced spices and a finish that is so very pleasing.
