Single Malt — Islay, Scotland

Nose is chocolate, chiles, campfire. Definitely makes sense as an Islay whisky finished in stout casks.
Taste is pretty classic Lagavulin up front, albeit with the volume turned down. Honeyed smoke with some medicinal notes. The finish is really something though: those chocolate and coffee notes from the Guinness show up and you get a bitter beer finish.
Tasty stuff, and a great dram to celebrate my first Father’s Day, especially given the production story!
