Didn't intend to buy whiskey today, but at $60 less than I've ever seen it, I couldn't resist. I hear the Beverly Hillbillies theme song while sipping this: "Black gold, Texas tea...” Thick, dark, rich, luxuriously oaky. Dessert in a glass. Cinnamon roll, quite bready. Chocolate bourbon pecan pie. A little warmth but not nearly as proofy as the bottle says it is. Responsibility for the impulse splurge goes to @Ctrexman and @ctbeck11 although it appears to have been a screaming deal compared to the typical going rate for this.

@PBMichiganWolverine I don’t know that I’ll ever see BTAC, but I’m thrilled to have just scored a bottle of Stagg Jr. for 50$. Will be my first time to try. As for Garrison, the two bottles I have are the highest and second-highest I’ve paid for a bottle of liquor and I have no regrets - really spectacular whiskies.
@soonershrink Balmo and Cowboy made me a believer in Garrison. I don’t mind forking over a premium (to a point…I’m not swimming in cash)…but I know I’m getting quality and experience like no other , at least till I hit BTAC ( which I never have…again, back to the cash limiting factor )

@soonershrink Major props for taking the high road and informing him of the likely pricing goof. I had a dram of this tonight after seeing @PBMichiganWolverine ‘s and and your reviews. It’s delicious. Exactly what I want from a dessert whiskey.
@ctbeck11 I think he has some SKUs mixed up or something. I asked the guy twice and told him I haven't ever seen it priced less than 150. He assured me the price was right. Not a closeout of a prior year - 2021 bottling, there are 6 or so bottles still on the shelf.
Wow! $90 for this is highway robbery. I’d buy multiples at that price.
