Rye — Kentucky, USA

Tempted to go higher based on the value. Sweetness balanced with rye spices, punchy enough to hold up with ice or in a cocktail, although admittedly I haven't tried it any way but neat.
Update: bottle kill gets a quarter bump. I'm sure I enjoy this way more than I should.

@Bourbon_Obsessed_Lexington I could see that being extra fruity.
@soonershrink this deserves a thread somewhere (that would include my many failures) but so far I enjoy: Fruit bomb - 1x Michters sour mash + 2x FR small batch select + 1x Russel’s Reserve
@Cornmuse Ha! Let us know what you come up with.
@Skymecca Sounds like a good enough reason to go grab a bottle of Rare Breed.
You guys are killing me with these blend ideas. I can see tonight is going to be pretty much a lost evening. of course I'm starting with a Grandma Still Smokes (Negroni variant - 2 oz mezcal, 3/4 oz Cynar, 1/2 oz Blanco vermouth) so my critical thinking skills may already be compromised.
I’ve mixed about 2/3 RR 10 and 1/3 Rare Breed for what I view as nearly perfectly balanced, longer aged and richer 101.
Also Turkey Dickel is pretty good too - 101 Rye with a little bit of Dickel BiB. Similar to 101 Rye w/RR10, gives more depth and richness. Small amount of the Dickel goes a long way.
Since making this a fixture in my cabinet, I've enjoyed using this as a base for custom blends. Some early favorites include: •Early Turkey - 50/50 101 Rye and Early Times BiB •WT 101 Reserve - 4 parts 101 Rye, 1 part Russell's Reserve 10. The RR10 gives a little more oak and depth. •101 Cones - This one sounds strange, but works for me - 4 parts 101 Rye, 1 part Balcones Lineage. I like the Lineage peachy fruit with the rye herbal spice. Anyone else experiment with home whiskey blends, whether with WT 101 Rye or other? Any favorites I should try?
