I know what "double aged" or "extra aged" means. It means nothing. It means this is a a vague blend of Beam stock. stock that is trending towards the side of the spectrum that sucks. The watery weak-finish side. The faint tobacco, the thin wood tannins, its all there. The mouthfeel is nice but there is little that stands out here anymore. This was my daily drinker two years ago. Maybe I've grown. Maybe things change. Maybe. Or maybe Beam-Suntory is doing what all massive conglomerates do. Sacrifice quality for quantity. Time will tell how that works out, but as far as Im concernced, this particular label is on a fast track towards irrelevance.
