Rating: 10/23
N: Orange and sweet. This seems fine, but unexciting. A lot like a less sharp Cointreau.
P: Orange and sweet like the nose. It's kind of a subdued profile due to the low ABV. Some prickling spice from the orange oil comes out. The palate turns toward more alcohol flavor as it progresses.
F: Orange with a bit of a metallic bitterness. Some sweetness is there, but not a ton. That bitter metal is a definite problem.
- Conclusion -
This is kind of too sweet. This is a mixer, not a sipper. That means that it really should be some stronger orange character to it. If I need a cocktail sweeter, I can always add simple syrup or just plain sugar.
Add in the alcohol and metallic flavors and this is not a very good liqueur. It isn't bad, but It's certainly not good either. I'm thinking in the 10 to 13 range for it. I almost gave it an 11. There's nothing bad here, but it's pretty forgettable, but mostly fine. That metallic flavor though is too much. It's getting a 10.
