One of the best whiskeys I’ve had in a while. Just so rich and beautiful. Thank you @TravHernandez a taster of this. I’ve been putting off the tasting for weeks now because I didn’t want it to be gone but here we go!!!
Nose: amaretto extract, luxardo cherry, vanilla, tobacco. From the beginning, I felt like I did not do this bourbon justice since I was not drinking it in a library with shelves made of rich mahogany containing many leather bound books.
Palate: the tobacco is there and it’s beautiful. It reminds me of a pipe tobacco I love called mountain mist. After the pipe tobacco taste you get some almond then a quick ethanol hit. The ethanol is not overpowering. It’s like a quick humble brag that is 105 proof and then it shows off it’s flavor again. This gives way to deep cherry and even cranberry flavors.
Finish: long finish that give you some leather and then gives way to dark roast coffee.
This bourbon has layers of flavor and it is quite possibly the top 3 of anything I’ve tried.
