This is an exquisite rum. Burnt brown sugar, molasses, and coconut abound. You get some banana and grilled pineapple too. This is like going to the islands, chilling on the beach and perhaps being one of the best things you have ever tasted. I can't give it 5 ........because I have tasted Appleton Joy whuch is the best rum I have ever had! This though is the junior version of that. Better than 21 y/o imo

That sounds amazing! Adding to my list!
@Swahili1 I actually just found it —$30 here in NJ. Ordered it —-looking forward to it —thanks for the recommendation!
Yes! if you give me an email or FB PM I will send a pic. you will also find what you are craving in Barbancourt frim Haiti@PBMichiganWolverine
@Swahili1 nice—-I need to look that up. I can’t stand the sugar-y rums, but the high ester funk ones seem more like a tropics version of Cambeltown whiskey
also if you like that high esther funk let me recommend Doktor Bird from Jamaica to you. it is a high esther native rum finished in moscatel. stewed tomatoes, tropical fruits, and a rancio finish like you would get in older armagnac or sherry. you can almost taste the barrel as it falls away for the last time! I love pot still rum! @PBMichiganWolverine
have had much of the Foursquare and Real McCoy. I liked the tropical fruits and slight touch of barrel funkiness in this one a bit more@PBMichiganWolverine
@Swahili1 have you ever tried any of the high ester rums (Caroni, or Foursquare )? Wondering how this compares.
