I would definitely be quite disappointed if I ever paid for this in a bar or purchased an entire bottle for well over $200-$250.
Pros: this is what I believe to be the definition of when people describe a "smooth" whiskey. Very light, sweet, and approachable but with a crescendoing backbone of peat that fortunately does sneak up on you. Medium malty note also makes it very rounded.
Cons: there aren't many pros. The flavor is pretty simple and doesn't leave anything to the imagination and leaves me wanting. From memory, Green label is more complex, interesting, and full-bodied.
I'm happy to have tried this so I can cross it off my list, but it'll soon be forgotten and replaced by other whiskies which cost less than half as much. I respect Johnnie, the tradition and the legend this drink holds, but that's unfortunately it.
