Bourbon — Kentucky, USA

4.0 stars - Excellent; 750 ml bottle
This is a single barrel, so your mileage may vary. The flavor was a great combination of classic Heaven Hill (ex: Elijah Craig) but also a lot of dusty peanut that I normally get from the better Jim Beam products. The finish reminded me of a 14 year Scotch in body and mellowness. For less than $30. Epic!
The only question: Who ruined this for the rest of us? What award did it win or what podcast gave it whiskey of the year? This has disappeared from every liquor store in my metro area for the past 12 months.

@ghill40509 that line has gotten out of hand, I’m worried the flippers are on the offensive
No doubt!! They have but one mash bill and the new product prices are going up. I paid $50 for a McKenna bib at the distillery a few weeks ago and had to wait in line.
@ghill40509 I also wonder if they are diverting a lot of this product to go into their new, more expensive releases under the Heaven Hill brand.
Several years ago, this was a ten year old product with many bottles approaching eleven years. (I think about 2018-19) There were some awards at that time but EWSB was growing in popularity and supply was getting spotty. I asked about it at the Louisville model distillery and was told that Heaven Hill made the decision to remove the ten year old statement and the supply problems were to be gone but they were putting up eight year stock. Looks like the supply pinch is back.
