Nose: Aroma is intense. Baking spices, rye bread, vanilla, honey. Ethanol. Dried fruits (prunes, figs...).
It's fully opens up after some time breathing.
It's like bourbon, but you can tell it's another breed.
Palate: tenacious and easy going at the same time. Tea tannins, sweet oak.
Mulled wine type spices ( cinnamon sticks, cloves, star aniseed, orange, brown sugar and vanilla).
Not punchy
Finish: medium. Pepper, tannins, toffee
I believe it's like Canadian whiskey supposed to be, old true rye - stories about you heard from your old folks
Best Rye I ever tried so far
Ps: it's 39 cad - awesome dram for a buck
