Nose is campfire smoke, sea salt, seaweed, rubber, vanilla. To taste, there is a strong rubber note on the arrival. It’s accompanied with ginger, stone fruit, iodine, and pear. Surprisingly sweet development on the palate, but with some young spirit heat. Once it dries, it turns sour and medicinal. Long finish with a lingering sweet-sour aftertaste. Nice, oily mouthfeel like other peated scotches, but thinner than my memory of Lagavulin 16 or Talisker 10. It’s interesting, but I definitely prefer Ardbeg 10, Talisker 10, or Laga 16 over this when it comes to peaty drams.
