Nose: Sweet as can be! Deep butterscotch notes, maple syrup, butter covered waffles, and a slight milk chocolate all encompassed by a lingering oak note. Reminds me of a sugary breakfast.
Palate: Very buttery, sugar sweet on the front of the palate. Butterscotch explodes out of this whiskey. Mid palate is where the butterscotch fades and you pick up some of the syrup drenched waffle notes, a vanilla custard, and finally the finish is a very light black pepper with a hint of oak and chocolate. On the lighter side of viscosity.
Overall: Good but not great. It’s VERY sweet which has a place, but it’s a little heavy on the butterscotch for my taste. If you’re looking for something to give you a sugar rush, this might be your whiskey.
