Rittenhouse Rye Bottled in Bond
Rye — Kentucky, USA

I see the similarity to Pikesville, but the extra smidgen of proof and extra age of the Pikesville seems to produce a much more well-rounded and better whiskey. More than it seems like it should. A lot of sweet, and very little of the classic rye herbalness shows up here, likely due to it's "barely legal" mash bill. Although similar mash bill WT101 Rye seems to be less sweet and have more of a classic rye profile. However, keeping the perspective that this is a 20$ bottle of whiskey, this is very good, and I think you're getting an incredible value. In this range I have a preference for the WT101Rye, but for those who like a little more sweetness, the Rittenhouse would be a good bet. Sugary cinnamon candy sweetness. For whatever reason, I can't currently find Old Forester 100 Rye around here, but would be interested to see how it stacks up to these two.

OF rye is pretty different from both with a unique mashbill
@Bourbon_Obsessed_Lexington same here. My Manhattan or Old Fashioned go to rye: flavor, strength, price.
Certainly drinks bigger than its 100 proof would suggest. Has been my go-to rye for mixing but works great for sipping as well (albeit a little hot).
