1.0 stars - Poor, flawed; 750 ml bottle
I was really excited when I found one last bottle of Old Ezra at my local grocery store. This is a recently in vogue bourbon and has all but disappeared.
Well, now I know what it feels like to be a beaver. Oak, oak, and more oak. I gave this several months to open up, but the flavor improved only slightly. This bottle tastes like an experiment in home aging gone awry.

@Bourbon_Obsessed_Lexington I will leave a few more bottles on the shelf for you. Batch variation is the biggest thing in whiskey that no one talks about. This may have been all about this one bottle.
@angstrom Sorry to hear that. Sounds like you’ve done your work to correct it but it just doesn’t work.
@pkingmartin I tried many combinations of time, water and ice. A couple ice cubes worked best, but still was unbalanced.
Give it a good dose of water. It was too spicy and astringent for me but I added a good amount of water and it really opened up.
😓 sorry this was a bust for you. I looked for 2 years for a bottle and after an uncommon bit of day drinking fell in love with this for the spice and wood - for me it was like a more acidic, less nutty knob creek 120 proof if that makes any sense but might need to do a side by side to check myself
