A strong buttery vanilla smell suggests a heavy sweet rum. The taste is soft, oaky and round. Not as sweet as the smell hints to, fortunately. It develops a rich palette of spices, juniper berry, cinnamon, caramel. The aging makes the story and definitely the rum.
