Nose: older, darker oak aromas. Hint of rye. Sweetness from both younger distillate and well-aged oak. Earth. Hint of caramel.
Palate: Loads of oak. Tastes like older, aged spirit balanced out by sweet corn spirit. Rye is prevalent on the finish. There has to be 15+ year-old spirit in this, but the sweeter, milder notes from the younger spirit blend well with the dark oakiness if the older spirit. I have a hard time believing this is 100% Willet distillate since they've only been distilling for around 10 years.
Very rich and complex for this price point. It is a must buy if you like the flavor profile.

Agreed. This is how I expect an old whiskey to taste. Willet is the master of old oak, dusty library book, black tea/licorice flavor.
