Woodford Reserve Double Oaked - 45.2% ABV, 90.4 Proof
Nose: Sweet maple syrup, vanilla, and baking spices up front. Cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, sweet oak spices, grilled fruits - apples, pears, peaches. Typical Woodford but big, rich, and deep.
Palate: Oak spice up front, gives way to leather and sweet tobacco. Sweet vanilla, baking spices with fruits such as red cherries, grilled apples, pears, and peaches... rounded off with sweet oak smoke.
Final Thoughts: Really enjoyable pour. On the nose it's like pancakes topped with whip cream, autumn spices, powdered sugar and smothered in maple syrup. On the palate, it's classic Woodford but turned up a few notches. Sweet oak spices, leather, tobacco, baking spices with stones fruits such are cherries, apples, pears and peaches all rounded off with a toasted oak.
