Woodinville Bourbon Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish
Bourbon — Washington, USA
Reviewed
November 21, 2021 (edited December 1, 2021)
Nose - Sweet fruity caramel, red maraschino cherries, cinnamon, mint, malted milk
Taste - Lightly drying, dried cherries & cranberries, caramel, cinnamon, milk chocolate
Finish - Lingering cinnamon char & spice, caramel, light oak, dried cherries
Score - 87/100
Final Thoughts - This was a nice touch on their standard release which I actually haven't had in a while since I still have a stock of their cask strength releases. This added a nice bright neon red maraschino cherry vibe in addition to a light charred cinnamon and raisin vibe. It was a nice addition to the standard caramel/cinnamon/vanilla notes you typically get, but a hint of bright red dried fruits.

@washeewashee That's cool :) I had no idea you were in the area too!
@ContemplativeFox - I'm quite lucky to live about 10-15 minutes away from the distillery, so I'm able to go to the distillery for their special events and special releases.
@PBMichiganWolverine They've definitely released some underaged, underproofed ones, sadly.
@ContemplativeFox I had their regular bourbon—-wasn’t impressed at all, but it was one of their early batches. Hopefully these later ones have improved
I'm kind of wanting to get one of their CS releases after being fairly impressed by their rye. They're been a bit hard to come by though. How did you manage to get a collection of them? :)
