Maker's Mark 46 French Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA

Nose: vanilla, oak, toffee, what I can only describe as cinnamon rolls
Palate: all the makers flavors with an emphasis on toasty oak, more of that cinnamon roll, caramel
Finish: dried fruits surprise me, a touch of vanilla and caramel, big bold lingering oak.
Overall this is a bit heavy on the oak and does have an astringent bitter finish without the complexity an older whiskey would offer. Interesting for not much more than regular makers but I'm excited to try the cask strength makers mark for nearly the same price, I think that will be a winner for budget wheated bourbon.
