Barrel 21E1540 Deep, reddish copper color. The nose is incredibly inviting and reminds me of mulled wine, with toasted cinnamon stick, candied orange peel, red grapes, cherry cordials, whole cloves and a hint of chocolate peppermint candy. Full-bodied mouthfeel, drinks hotter than 46%. The palate hits you first with a bit of tannic oak that quickly transitions to cinnamon, clove, cherry cola, white pepper and leather, with hints of spearmint and anise. The medium-long finish is dry and mildly tannic, with lots of baking spice, leather, cocoa powder and oak. Very balanced and consistent from nose to finish.
