Aberfeldy 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland

No complaints and enjoyable enough moderately sherried malt. Creamy is the primary descriptor that comes to mind. Unobtrusive but pretty basic, this one is for having a pour or 3 without thinking much about it. Affordable and sessionable, but also forgettable. Price point and proof are about right for that experience, so a lukewarm recommendation, but a recommendation nonetheless if that’s what you’re after. I won’t be buying a bottle but certainly wouldn’t turn down a pour if offered or when the selection was limited.

@cascode @Ctrexman agree. I like everything about this, especially the price for a competent 12 year, except that it’s so passive. Eyes are definitely on scan for a higher proof IB. Honestly starting to rethink my opinion on Dewar’s considering that this is good, and Craigellachie is great. Need to revisit some bottling with an open mind.
A good whisky that could punch well above its weight class if only it were bottled at 46%. You seldom see Aberfeldy as an independent bottling but if you ever get a chance to taste one don’t pass it by.
Im a fan of this great value and solid flavors
