The nose gives an initial, deceptively light burn given the 120+ proof. The burn is then enveloped in a rich, dark fruit aroma with a touch of warm brown sugar and light baking spices.
On the palate it delivers on the promises of deep, intense dark fruit and warm baking spices, then followed by light toasted oak as well as a dryness that lovingly coats the tongue.
The finish lingers long and warm with the dark fruit dominating the remainder of the experience.
All in all, this is an incredible pour that is worth a try at least once for everyone! My final thought is just how surprisingly pronounced the dark fruit notes are! Had I not known what this was, I would have assumed it was finished in sherry or port casks.
Cheers!
