Joseph Magnus Triple Cask Finished Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (Finished and Bottled in Washington DC), USA

Sherry fruitiness on the nose, orange peel, along with the classic bourbon caramels. Seems to be a nice balance between the bourbon and the finishes that carries through to the palate. Nice viscous mouthfeel. Getting a lot of wood and spice on the finish.
I'm a little conflicted about scoring this one. I liked it, but I can't see myself being a buyer at the price. I did have a sip of another MGP-sourced Belle Meade Reserve, and the Belle came across as fairly pedestrian in comparison, and I gave the Belle a 4 (although it did get a boost for value when I was able to stock up on them for $30). It doesn't seem like this warrants much more than 4 stars, but I clearly like it more than the Belle at 4. 4.25 it is then, but I feel a little cornered-in to that score.
Once again, thank you for the sample @ctbeck11

@Bourbon_Obsessed_Lexington @ctbeck11 I liked it, but didn't love it, and I could imagine growing to like it even more if I were to spring for a bottle.
@Ctrexman I could see that. I might hold off until I see a bottle of Cigar Blend at SRP (which may be never).
@Ctrexman and @ctbeck11 are both onto something - this is one I hated initially and with time/air/revisits I learned to love it - BM Sherry in comparison is much fruitier with some classic MGP spice popping through whereas this was sulfuric and leathery in comparison
Hell yeah ct the Belle Sherry is my fav finished bourbon
I learned to like this one. If you have an opportunity, give the Belle Meade Sherry a try. It’s one finished bourbon I really enjoy.
This is one that continues to gain steam through the bottle. I dont think a sample does it justice. Imo worth the c-note
