Clase Azul Reposado Tequila
Tequila Reposado — Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico

The nose is a lot sweeter than I expected with the vegetal agave sweetness, along with vanilla extract and butterscotch. Vanilla and butterscotch continue on the palate, with notes of spearmint tea and black tea, diet cola (artificial sweetener), and a little wet stone. The finish is fairly short with more vanilla, mint, diet cola, and the faintest wisp of agave. My initial impression is that this could be considered a bourbon-drinker's tequila, but honestly I think there is just too much sweetness here (maybe barrel influence, maybe something else) that overpowers the delicate tequila notes. Personally, I prefer the plata expression.
