As an admirer of the Talisker 10 year, I was looking forward to trying this one. It is definitely a Talisker, but not as complex or balanced as the 10 year. One the nose I get a briny, spicy aroma with a hint of smoke and peat. On the tongue it is rich and very smoky, which is my favorite part of it. The finish is spicy and nutty with a bit of tobacco. A good winter whisky.
