@just2152 The dried fruit could be what I perceived as the apple note. It's important to remember that these are just combinations of different chemicals from burnt wood that resemble something more familiar. I don't know about Jameson, but these are aged in American oak which means they'll have a distinctive vanilla taste depending on what region of the US the oak was sourced from. Usually the first thing I try to look for after letting the second dram burn a little on the palate before swallowing and breathing in deeply.
reminds me of Irish whiskey at first, something like Jamison without the ethanol or aluminum flavor. Then I get a dark dried fruit note.
