The nose starts with a mild sour and bitter mix of light sulfur, sour red berries, Concord grapes and plantains then roasted hazelnuts and chocolate covered strawberries followed by a creamy vanilla pudding that transitions to candied ginger, cloves and Angel food cake with medium ethanol burn.
The taste is a medium mouthfeel starting creamy with sweet citrus that quickly veers towards a mild sour and bitter spice that slowly fades to cherry pie, sour apple and dehydrated figs that transitions to pickled ginger, cloves and ashy oak with medium ethanol burn.
The finish is medium length with campfire ashes, chocolate covered espresso beans, orange zest, sour cherries and toasted marshmallow.
Overall, this is an interesting one with the red berries, grapes and creamy sweetness, but it leans too heavily on those sour and bitter notes for me to really enjoy it. I hear good things about Dingle and would like to try some of their other offerings, but this one was sadly a disappointment for me.
A huge thank you to @ctbeck11 for the generous sample.

@pkingmartin Yep, not surprising that you like this less than I did. Regardless, it’s priced way too high for the quality you’re getting. Though I read somewhere that earlier batches were significantly better.
@Scott_E Absolutely, we all experience things different and palates can easily differ. I also find it fun to read others thoughts and see how they are similar or different.
@pkingmartin I find it interesting when I have an experience that differs from another’s experience. No two experiences are truly ever the same (maybe similar but will never be the same). That’s life. That’s good. We are all the same, yet all different. Sharing the experiences is what it ultimately is all about.
@Scott_E Thanks, I tend to be harsh on those sour and light bitter flavors. This has a nice creaminess to it and I think I’d have loved it with either just a port or sherry influence on it instead of both.
I had a small sample of this, amongst other whiskies, at a liquor store I frequent (Writers Tears, Green Spot, McConnells, which I am already familiar with). Of them all, this was clearly the favorite, even amongst others. However, at $94, not sure if I would grab a bottle. I will need to get a pour and truly evaluate. Your notes are similar to what I recollect. Nice review.
