It's an interesting nose and palate, nothing I've ever tasted from any other bourbon. I also got a signed bottle by the owners who was signing bottles, which is pretty cool.
On the nose, I had heavy honey and bread notes. The palate, strong notes of honey and sweet hay, which it reminded me of when being around horses, the smell of giving horses their hay and bucket of grains. Maybe I shouldn't be too surprised when I think this is a bourbon from Lexington Ky and Horse Capital USA.
A cool story and interesting facts about this company, not your typical bourban or bourban notes. At $45 dollars I was reluctant to buy it, i wasnt looking to buy a $45 dollar bourbon or especially something brand new but somehow they had won a few awards so seemed worth trying. But for my taste, I wasn't as impressed. I have poured a couple drinks neat, added an ice cube, tried it a couple times but, I just can't do it. I've got ¾ of a bottle that will probably sit there and look real pretty on a shelf at home.
