Haven't had too many ryes, but was curious to learn more about the style. What better way than a bottle of Saz. The aroma was interesting with its cherry and vanilla character. Herbal essence as well. My palate extracted mostly vanilla and said herbal qualities with a touch of a waxy like presence. Very much looking forward to making a Manhattan and the popular cocktail this is named after.

@Scott_E Interesting. I'll have to try it in an old fashioned as well. I haven't tried Rittenhouse yet. I'll definitely pick up a bottle in the future. Thank you for the compliment.
For cocktails, Rittenhouse is been my goto Rye which hits some major points: price, flavor, strength. I did recently pick up a bottle of Sazerac and had it in an Old Fashioned and did enjoy it. It was slightly different, in a good way. A bit sweeter(?) and less punchy. I haven’t tasted this by itself yet for a review. Will get to it soon. I have a long backlog. Life is getting in the way right now. Nice review!
@Ctrexman after a few more swigs, I decided to up my rating a bit. This actually is pretty darn good. So easy to drink as well.
This is one of my fav ryes real good stuff
