Nose: ethanol, corn
First sip: baking spices immediately. Cinnamon spiciness. It tastes young. There is a kettle corn sweetness balanced against a mouth-drying leather.
After it sits: a layer of dark fruits, like raisins.
With water: cuts the spiciness a tad. With the dark fruits, It reminds me of a spicier (both heat and baking spices) Woodford.
I can’t believe I’ve made it this long into my bourbon journey without trying Buffalo
trace. For shame. I like it, but I think that it needs about 15 minutes and a few drops of water to be at its best for me.
