Rebranded Naked Grouse is what we have here. Poured neat, nose is malt, canned peaches, prune, buttery apple turnover with some barrel. Good mouthfeel brings on palate of malty sherried fruits, a pinch of ginger and charred wood. Its blended together well and provides a simple tasty blast. Finishes with fading dried red fruits, barrel woods, char and malty sugars. This is a wonderful inexpensive sherry finished vatted malt. Not super complex or deep but supremely enjoyable.....85/100........The value here is great and this is one of the top dog budget scotches. Better than Monkey Shoulder for sherryheads and a no brainer repurchase.....The Mac is strong with this one

@Ctrexman Good to know. Spaniard is next up for me, so had to check if it should get bumped.
@angstrom Spaniard is better head to head but its double the cost or more so Naked is much better value
Nice review. I prefer this to Monkey Shoulder and it’s good value, although sometimes for the same money I rather have a blended scotch. Yes, the Macallan component is detectable, particularly in the finish, but the downside for me is the equally detectable Glenrothes.
Have you had Compass Box Story of a Spaniard? Curious how the two compare.
I complete agree with your notes. I've killed my bottle and it *will* be repurchased. I may have been stingy at only giving it 3 stars, its better than that, it's certainly the best value in scotch whisky I've encountered. Buy before they jack the price!
